BeaconLit 2024

What Went On

Marking ten years of in-person events, BeaconLit 2024 celebrated growth as much as it did literature.

New to the festival was a Poetry Circle and Writing Workshop, both well-recieved. Headliners were the internationally acclaimed MBE Adele Parks and bestselling crime author, Elly Giffiths.

Highlights

With over five million UK copies of her work being sold, hosting MBE Adele Parks at BeaconLit 2024 was a rare privilege. Many took the opportunity to speak with her one-on-one during her book signing session.

Having never run a Poetry Circle of Writing Workshop at BeaconLit before, there was some trepidation over their success. However, feedback has been excellent (centred around introspection and enjoyment) and the organisers are considering re-running them in some form for 2025.
