The Big Little Book Festival
Held annually in July, BeaconLit is about more than just books. Community is at our centre, with volunteers working throughout the year to create an event-filled day that everyone can enjoy.
All profits go to the Beacon VIllages Community Library.
BeaconLit began life in 2013 as a half-day book festival, squeezed into Ivinghoe Summer Festival's marquee on Ivinghoe Lawn. Our purpose was, and remains, to raise much needed funds for the library that serves the village communities surrounding Ivinghoe Beacon in the Chilterns. The festival website helps with this publicity.
That small festival spawned a full-day event that has taken place every year apart from 2020. We are most grateful for Brookmead School, Ivinghoe, for becoming our regular home. We are run and staffed entirely by volunteers, and perhaps it's this local pulling together that creates the warm, village atmosphere that authors and audiences alike seem to love.
At the same time, we are proud of our reputation as a high quality event that attracts best sellers, exciting new authors, and a wealth of eclectic talent from the book world. From panels, interviews, poetry circles an workshops, there's something for everyone. So, if you love literature, you're sure to love BeaconLit!
We will only send you news about the BeaconLit festival and other BeaconLit events and will never share your details with any third party.
