BeaconLit is in its sixth year and is continuing to grow. Run and staffed entirely by volunteers, its two main aims are: to nurture reading and writing in and around the Beacon Villages; and to support the Beacon Villages Community Library. The festival has been praised by audiences and participants alike for its unique friendly, intimate 'village' atmosphere and the array of stars from the literary world that come to take part.
Nestling in Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the ‘Beacon Villages’ loosely embraces the many small communities close to Ivinghoe Beacon, the starting point of the Icknield Way to the east and the Ridgeway path to the west. The villages include Ivinghoe, Pitstone, Ivinghoe Aston, Slapton, Marsworth and Cheddington - but BeaconLit events are open to anyone from anywhere.
OTHER BEACONLIT EVENTS
